About the Role

Federal Thermal, a leading provider of advanced thermal solutions in the Midwest, is looking for a talented and collaborative Mechanical Engineer III to join our Systems Integration Team. This fully onsite position, based in the Oklahoma City area, is ideal for a mechanical engineer with at least 5 years of experience who has developed a strong technical foundation and is ready to grow into a more advanced role.
In this position, you’ll contribute to the design, engineering, integration, and testing of complex combustion-based systems, including industrial burners, process heaters, burner fuel trains, burner management systems, steam boilers, and control/optimization systems. Your advanced proficiency in CAD and SolidWorks will be critical in creating detailed and accurate mechanical designs that integrate seamlessly across multidisciplinary engineering functions.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (master’s preferred) in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET program

  • Has or can obtain a P.E. license in OK, TX, CO and NM

  • A minimum of five years of work experience demonstrating aspects of machine or systems engineering

  • Advanced Proficiency in (CAD), SolidWorks and AutoCAD, Drafting, GD&T, Machine Design required

  • Preferred Skills: PLC Programming (Allen Bradley and/or Honeywell preferred), BMSs, Industrial Burners, Steam Boilers

  • Energetic, team player with a willingness to help others

  • Ensure all interactions embody the Federal Thermal Core Values

  • Self-motivated, organized individual who can work independently with minimal supervision while multi-tasking and prioritizing work

  • Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for solving problems and obtaining solutions

  • NetSuite and/or Acumatica experience preferred

  • Clean driving record with a valid Oklahoma driver’s license

  • Must pass a safety sensitive drug test and background check

  • Ability to travel nationwide, up to 40% of the time needed for project commissioning
